Diabetics at TGI Friday

If you're a diabetic, then you must be extra careful while dining at TGI Friday. Try the salad menu at TGI Friday to keep your sugar and sodium intake in check. Soups are great to keep you full and satisfied without munching on the unhealthy greased meat-based dishes on TGI Friday menu.

Foods to Avoid at TGI Friday for Diabetics:

Sugar and sodium intake are crucial if you have diabetes. While the salads are the best option for you at TGI Friday, it is recommended to avoid the Pecan-Crusted Chicken Salad containing over 1000 calories and 1,650mg sodium. Also, skip Warm Pretzels with Craft Beer-Cheese dipping sauce as it contains more than 3000mg sodium. It is wise to skip the dessert for diabetics, especially the Brownie Obsession topped with Vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, and pecans.

Very casual good-sized sports bar. Pros: If you like sports and the male atmosphere, its a great place. Surprisingly large on the inside with a very high ceiling. Lots of wood. Pretty nice looking. Good for groups since its so large. Most people seemed to know each other and some of the people there also frequent Devaney's since I heard the owner owns both places. Tons of flat screen TVs with sports playing on them. Also, some arcade game machines that appeared popular (the one that had four of five men on it for hours was a golf game). The outside patio area is shaded so you dont havta worry about the sun burning you up. LOTS of wing options and all-around American casual food. Very good wings - I asked the waitress what was good and she said Cajun medium garlic and, at first bite, it was blah but then it really grew on me. Good wings! 8 bucks for a basket with fries :) Great Hispanic store ten steps away - bought some hot chips there. Cons: The sign at the entrance says to seat yourself but if no one is outside and you are sitting outside, it would be good to tell a waitress. We stood there 5 minutes before hunting someone down to tell them we would be outside. The service wasnt as quick outside but, obviously, thats because everyone is on the inside. Average service. The outside patio isnt as large - maybe ten tables - and there's no TV if you like to watch the game. Also, all the people were inside and only came outside to smoke. It's in the parking lot in a strip mall so it's a patio just to say you have a patio basically. I saw a homeless man wandering around looking under people's cars. Not sure what that was about. They didnt have any wheat beer besides Blue Moon so that was a bummer. Definitely an average Joe/Bud Light/college kid-middle aged man hangout. Overall, will be going back for wings :)

This is my Chicago Bears bar, unfortunately the service has been horrible, my server came back 5 min later to ask if I wanted the same item I asked for 5 min ago. They switched the menu and when I received my sweet potato fries they put a packe of mayo with it, then when I asked for the yummy dipping sauce they said they had to charge me since they changed the menu, maybe they should have mentioned that when i ordered them, they gave me half the amount of adequate fries. Truly disappointed. Come on Chicago! On the plus side I have never had them screw up wings- delicious.

I love this place. Really really great wings. A good menu. With drink specials everyday. They used to have nickel Wednesdays. That was nice!

  • Erik R.

This is s a sports bar. Plain and simple. The food is fairly cheap, lots of specials, and the wings seriously kick some major ass. Whether you get them grilled or fried, they taste pretty good (probably since they make a point to say that the wings are fresh, never frozen.) Everything else is pretty damn tasty. This isn't your fancy "pub" bar where everything is nice and shiny. It's a guy's guy's bar, with not much more decor than the sports and the tons of TVs everywhere. But if you want a sports bar, that's all you need. Lastly the drinks, still one of the cheapest places to get a drink in Orlando. I mean, 5 buck pitchers on domestics, and 6 for yuengling? Sold. Not to mention cheap mixed drinks. Try finding a 4 buck double call or top shelf anywhere near downtown Orlando; not gonna happen, but you will find it here. A good place for families during the day and your rowdy buddies. Most families tend to sit away from the bar area, so don't worry about getting a little excited during games, nights are a random assortment of locals, and everyone is really friendly there. If you're tired of overpriced franchised sports bars, then you will love it here.

Tonight was the first time I received take out. The service was fast and prompt and the food delicious. Get take out in order to avoid the bad service.

Went to friendly confines. to get some wings for the first time. and I took it home and the first wing was uncook and the second too by the third wing I had to cook all off them again ....buttttt...since it was first time I will try them again but if they mess my order on future time I will not go back....

We always like heading to friendly confines when we want great wings & casual service. It's not the best place in town but they're friendly & efficient.

I use to come here Tuesday nights with regularity, the waitresses are nice and always bring water and a pitcher right over. The food comes out pretty quick and always warm. The chicken tacos are really good I ask for a side of hot sauce to pour on top. Good pitcher prices and always have some liquor specials if you like that more. They also have a craft beer menu with dogfish and a few other quality beers. Every so often I go to watch a game and always get the chicken nachos Confines chicken nachos are the best around. The wings are excellent they have a few flavors to choose from.

My husband had the wings from this location and got the worst food poisoning, was up all night. Will never go back.

  • Rick M.

Love their wings especially on Monday nights for all u can eat night, great place to watch your favorite team or teams play, the place has tvs all over the place, Can't speak about the rest of the food but the wings are very good and they have good drink specials. Overall a good place to knock back a cold one & have some wings while watching sports.

After having a good lunch, guy had a bad hit from a a crack pipe on the front porch. Police, medical people, and EMS responded. The bartender wasn't phased and the management didn't even go outside, is this a common thing here? The bartender was serving visibly drunk patrons, and she about having a good time instead of being responsible. The inside is dirty and isn't welcoming. Food was good. This was not my first visit, but once crack pipes and irresponsible staff are present... It was my last visit. Avoid this place if you have children or self-respect.

This Friendly Confines is usually hit or miss. I go here once in a while to grab a drink or three with some friends. The food is decent bar food and the atmosphere isn't bad. The restaurant is sports themed, and has football jerseys (still in the plastic) that are hanging out everywhere. They are actually autographed, and are for sale as well which I thought was pretty neat. The service isn't really consistent. Sometimes I will have a server who is really attentive at first, slows down, and then barely checking up on us at all. Not a bad place to go watch a football game, grab some grub or a drink.

Good option for good bar food and cheap drinks. Get there as early as possible during football season.

This has always been one of my favorite bar/restaurants in Orlando. If you love wings then get their delicious wings in any one of their many delicious flavors or combine more than one. If you are more of a chicken tender type then try their tender and juicy cubbie claws with a sauce of your choice or eat them plain. Their loaded spuds/waffle fries (cheese and bacon) are the best I have ever had and if you like to dip your foods try their homemade ranch and blue cheese! Friday nights they have karaoke. Fun spot for late night happy hour and fun. Try any of their locations they are all delicious.

  • Kristen P.

I really like Friendly Confines except they moved their karaoke night from Tuesdays to Saturdays. This was a blow to our weekly activities. The food is good and there are usually drink specials. I've had the same waitress pretty much every time I've been. She is great. The honey mustard is literally the best. Seriously, it is the BEST honey mustard, I have ever had. It's delicious.

Great place, great specials, friendly, casual sports bar. Wednesday's are trivia night. Wings are great, I do not think the mango habanero has enough heat. The spicy barbecue does though, the spicy teriyaki was just kinda weird. My favorites would have to be hot sauce and garlic Parmesan. Beers are cold and the drinks are strong, I also hear they make a mean Bloody Mary. It's a good place to grab lunch and a beer. Or dinner and a game and a beer. Or a Jameson and ginger and let the good times roll.

  • Kelly H.

Huge fan of this place on a Monday. $0.50 wings/cubbie claws and $4.00 domestic pitchers! Can't beat that if you're looking for some wings and beer! The cubbie claws were like mini, thin, chicken fingers coated in your favorite sauce. What's great about $0.50 wing Monday is that you can mix and match whatever sauces you want. You can mix multiple together to create your own sauce or you can get 2 of one flavor, 3 of another, etc. So if you're not sure what sauce is you're favorite, this is a great way to find out. Service was attentive and the food came out fairly quick. I was offered an ice pack for my pitcher of beer which was nice so it did not go warm. They have different specials each day, which are listed on their website. I'll definitely be returning.

A nice little sports bar located in Winter Park with over 40 different sauces for their wings (they do both traditional and boneless wings). Try the cheddar tots appetizer they are to die for!!! We tried the garlic BBQ wings, the Parmesan garlic wings, and sweet Thai chili and all were delicious. Try the half order (believe me it's enough) of the chocolate chip brownie pie dessert (if you can find the room)!!

  • Georgia C.

I love this place! I am new to the area and it is just a brisk walk away. I have eaten in and ordered out. Both experiences have been fantastic. The food is always the same! The wings are to die for and the burgers are very tasty. The waitresses and bartenders are friendly and helpful. I always take my boys 7 & 11 for lunch at least once a week. All the pieces hung are a great conversational piece. My boys and I always have something to talk about. It is a great friendly environment during the day. I highly recommend this place. Not only for the fabulous food, but because of the great staff that welcome us in on every visit!

  • Randy H.

This place reminds me of a lower end version of Gator's Dockside or similar. The food is suitable but nothing to get excited about for a sports bar. The staff is pretty friendly but has a hard time of checking up on tables in a normal time frame that is acceptable. The brightside, as with any sport bar, is that there are plenty of tv's and plenty of sports (games) available to watch.

    (2)
  • Marcus S.

I'm not the world's biggest fan of Friendly Confines. Their beer 'selection' is limited to domestics (not an issue if that's what you are into but doesn't work for me). My personal experiences with their food have been detrimental to my health. Each time i eat here my stomach does not agree with what i consumed. It may just be freak coincidences but i refuse to eat here anymore.

Found myself here again last night. Great service, great environment for any sporting event, and good wings and pitcher prices. Almost always has a table open even during big sporting events. Do yourself a favor and skip Buffalo Wild Wings or other crazy, insanely busy bars and go to Confines.

  • Kenny R.

I haven't come here as often since the old bar manager left, but it's still a decent place to watch a game, get some food, and chat up with the regulars (most of whom are actually pretty nice people). I'd give it higher stars if the food hadn't become so pricy after the recent menu change. $5 for three soft tacos? Something like $8 for five or six buffalo shrimps? I mean, are you taking the piss?

Visited Friendly Confines on Tuesday night, and they seem to have the water filtration issue resolved :) The mild grilled Buffalo Chicken wrap is still my favorite, and I love their onion rings. Yum-o!

Laid back atmosphere and a gazillion tv's everywhere - this is what I think of when I think of Friendly Confines. We have gotten decent service there the few times we have gone to this location. Surprisingly they have really tasty and tender ribs. Honey BBQ is the way to go. Ask for light sauce too unless you like your ribs smothered in sauce. I can't vouch for the rest of the food. They also have good drink specials (we usually get the pitcher of beer). Gotta love the entertainment book coupon for this place (yay).

I like this place, although a few of the regulars are kinda annoying. I also prefer the layout here, over the Waterford Lakes restaurant. Good food and reasonably priced. Good seating for families and groups. They also have Buzztime trivia/poker, which is cool. I recommend this place to everyone.

Went to watch football Sunday afternoon. Great place to watch a game because they have TV's everywhere. However the waitstaff seems like they have never had any training what so ever. Ordered a beer, water, and rum and coke. Got a coke and and beer. Took 45 minutes to get a chicken sandwich. Never got any silverware or napkins. My girlfriend then ordered a beer and I, another rum and coke. The waitress brought her the beer but nothing else. Asked again, this time we ordered 4 drinks for everyone at the table. The waitress then brought all four glasses out without a tray and told my friend to move his phone cause she was going to spill them when she put them down...I mean really? Sloshing beer all over the table, at least a third of each glass was spilled. When the bill came we were charged for the original coke that we even told her we didn't order. A guy who looked like the manager just hung out by the kitchen. Maybe it was to BS with the cooks so food would take longer because it sure wasn't to manage or check on the customers. My girlfriends team was getting killed and the waitress kept telling her she looked mad and tried to get her to buy shots. Really annoying considering she didn't seem to care about anything else. Will not go back unless they get all new employees. Plenty of other places to go.

More like a college hang-out than a nice restaurant to take your family to, Friendly Confines is a regular hang-out for me. Every Monday night following volleyball a group of the players hits up Friendly Confines for some cheap beer and wings. It's a relatively good sports bar to hang out in but tends to cater to a younger, college-age crowd. They have a pretty extensive wing selection and they are rather tasty. They also offer a fairly good beer selection with one of my favorites, Blue Moon. And for always arriving with a decent size crowd of around 10, the service isn't too shabby either. It's a good atmosphere to kick back and relax while downing a beer or two and watching the big game with some friends.

What in the hell has happened to Carmen's business?!?! I and my family have been loyal patrons on devaneys and friendly confines for years...I mean a good fifteen years! For those of you who do no know, I am talking about Carmen senior...not junior. Obviously junior doesn't care whatsoever about the business his father built. Years ago I worked for Carmen at devaneys on goldenrod and at the waterford lakes friendly confines. Great man to work for, a man of integrity. Two weeks ago, Amanda and I went out with about ten people from her job for a fun afternoon. Now I havent been in there in about a year but apparently the best sports bar in winter park is now the absolute worst sports bar. We walked into the the establishment (it was a sunday afternoon) and noticed it was really dead. I didnt mind that because I just wasnt in the mood for a crazy loud place...were we in for a surprise. First we sat down with a few of our friends who had claimed the hi-tops for our party. It took 20 minutes to get a drink...any drinks! One of their apparent regulars(judging by the interaction between the bartender and him) was trying to start a fight with one guy...then another and then they told him to leave...or so I thought. He took his "show" outside and continued trying to fight a guy while cursing loudly in front of a family outdie with children. Then some more people got involved....what a f-ing mess! After they told him to leave...he came back inside and they continued to serve him!!! I could not believe this was the same place! Our drinks finally came and they were made incorrectly but we didnt want to wait another 20 minutes...or longer. We ordered wings and other finger foods and such. the wings were actually okay and the other plates were just okay too but it is a bar so what can you ask for I suppose. I ordered another drink and waited about 15 minutes for it before the server finally came back around and let me know that she purposely had not put in my drink order yet...so that she could get them all at the same time...WHAT?! Where the hell is this acceptable?? We ordered some irish car bombs that took FOREVER to recieve and when we did, the server(that simply sucked at life) told us that the bartender had already dropped in the shots....What?! Who does that?? Anyways we all drink them and all looked at eachother....where was the shot??? Then our server told us that the bartender had made a mistake...as she says this the bartender yells at all of us from behind the bar saying that we jumped the gun...WHAT?? So it was apparently our fault! What did we expect, good service?! This was quite possibly the worst service I have ever recieved anywhere! By the way we dropped a few hundred dollars that day...but I can gaurantee they will not recieve another dime of my money. My god, If Carmen only knew what his business has become. What an absolute shame!

I visited Friendly Confines on my last trip to Orlando, I had a great time here the, wings were cheap and amazing, great drink specials, and awesome service. Even though they were super busy for a Tuesday we never had flag our waitress down, she kept our drinks full!!! They have big screens for the big game. Great place to meet up with friends for a drink. I wish they had a location here in San Antonio!!

A friend and I used to eat here almost everyday. They had really good food and always cold beer with friendly service. Then when he moved away, I didn't go into confines for about a year. I was out with two friends and we were looking for a place so I suggested confines. I went in and ordered the BBQ ribs with broccoli and a pitcher of yuengling. We got our pitcher and it tasted like stale metal. When I asked to get a different beer our waitress told us that they just needed to replace the keg or whatever and we reluctantly agreed to take another pitcher. After about 30minutes of no one helping us we finally received our second pitcher and our food. My broccoli was cold and rubbery along with my ribs being some of the worst I've ever had. Which was very disappointing as i've had them here a couple years ago and they were amazing. It also happened to be dollar off day on the rib plate. Our waitress straight up lied to me and told me the price was already factored in to the price on the bill. It proudly displayed my price as 9.99, the same price on the menu. Took me about 15 minutes of arguing with her about it before she got it changed to the correct price for the day. Then to top things off. When we got to the bottom of the second pitcher there was dirt all in the bottom of the pitcher. Since talking to people i've also heard that if you go to the Orange county health department's website they are loaded with violations like not keeping their food at the right temperatures and infestation by insects. I really don't doubt any of it, although I'venot read this list myself.... BEWARE!

The founder of the restaurant Alan Stillman lived in a New York-based neighbourhood full of a young crowd, especially girls from the airline and fashion industry. He started the first TGI Friday restaurant in New York in the hope of meeting single women as there weren't any such public place for young men and women to meet. He invested $5000 on his own and borrowed another $5000 from his mother to buy a bar named The Good Tavern and renamed the premise to Thank God It's Friday, inspired from an expression during his time at Bucknell University.
